Mark Schwarzer (Fulham), Lucas Neill (West Ham), Tim Cahill (Everton), David Carney (Sheffield United), Brett Emerton (Blackburn), Richard Garcia (Hull) and Mile Sterjovski (Derby) all make the 28-man squad, as does Celtic's Scott McDonald.

But Blackburn midfielder Vince Grella is out with a calf injury, joining fellow first-choices Mark Bresciano and former Liverpool winger Harry Kewell.

Coach Pim Verbeek announced his reduced squad of 28 on Tuesday, with the three World Cup squad members from 2006 missing through injury.

Kewell suffered a groin injury while playing for Turkish club Galatasaray, while Grella wants to get back to 100 percent fitness with his new club Blackburn.

The other players cut from the initial squad of 35 were A-League quartet Shannon Cole, Ante Covic, Matt Simon and Alex Wilkinson.

Neill will most likely captain the side while Cahill returns from injury having not played for Australia since the fixture with Qatar in February.

McDonald, who missed the match against Uzbekistan, is also back in.

Verbeek also confirmed the international comeback of Queensland Roar captain Craig Moore, while Adelaide United quartet Eugene Galekovic, Robert Cornthwaite, Scott Jamieson and Paul Reid will join the squad after their AFC semi-final clash with Bunyodkor.
