Derby are looking to become a force in Canada after unveiling Canadian Dragons' Den panelist Brett Wilson as a major investor.
Entrepreneur Wilson is part of the international consortium which owns the Rams.
And he hopes to use his role on Canada's answer to the popular British television show to make Derby famous in North America.
He told the club's official site: "I am very proud to be a part of Derby County and I want to use my profile in Canada to promote the club whenever possible.
"As a Saskatchewan boy, I know that fan commitment can run pretty deep but I was blown away by the level of community and corporate support that the Rams enjoy.
"The number of hardcore football fans here in Canada is staggering and I believe that European football provides an unrivalled level of entertainment that is only beginning to be tapped in North America."
