Paul Jewell has revealed he has suffered a setback in his bid to bolster Derby's ranks with loan players before next week's deadline.
The Rams boss is keen to add to his numbers as the club look to strengthen their promotion push, however he has seen his plans hit a stumbling block after a club, reportedly from the Premier League, had to pull the plug on a deal earlier this week.
"I thought I'd definitely got one in on loan on Monday but I called the manager of the club and he's picked up a couple of injuries over the weekend and now can't let the player go," said Jewell in the Derbyshire Evening Telegraph.
