Keane snaps up fitness coach Gomez

Ipswich have appointed former Liverpool and Sunderland coach Antonio Gomez as a fitness coach at Portman Road.

The 32-year-old worked under Rafael Benitez at Anfield for two years before joining Town boss Roy Keane at Sunderland last summer.

He told the club's official website: "I know Roy wants to take this club forward and win a place in the Premier League and I'm looking forward to playing my part in that challenge."

Keane said: "I worked alongside Antonio at Sunderland and know what qualities he can bring. He will be a valuable asset as part of our coaching staff."
