Keane apologises for Irish offence

Ipswich boss Roy Keane admits he may have been too harsh in his criticism of the Irish FA following the Republic of Ireland's World Cup exit.

The Blues boss launched into a scathing tirade on the FAI following the Republic's exit from the World Cup at the hands of Thierry Henry's France.

Keane was criticised by a supporter at the club's AGM on Tuesday evening, to which he replied: "The comments were perhaps over the top and I apologise to any supporter I might have offended.

"I'm 38 years of age and I'm going to make mistakes."

""I'm 38 years of age and I'm going to make mistakes."

The problem with this muppet is he never learns, makes the same mistakes again and again. Ipswich will never climb the championship with him as manager!"

heffo (Sheffield Wednesday fan)

"Ooh he boils my blood. He has a tantrum and walks out of a world cup(traitor). Has another tantrum 7years later(not to mention many more in between) at a press conference, and at this time of collective Irish heartbreak, drags up the Saipan bulls*** again. Using the Henry handball for his own selfish and twisted agenda. He is a vile creature in my opinion and I feel sorry for his blind Irish supporters, the ones who started supporting Sunderland just because he was managing the club, so sad. I'm Irish myself and loved to see him in a green jersey but I have to say outside of that, I never liked the man. ***WTID***"

"This fool should be retired permanently."

"'I'm 38 years of age. I'm going to make mistakes'. If only we were all given such caveats. 'I'm sorry Boss for slating the company at the conference. I'm only in my thirties. I'm sure you understand'!. 'Sorry for busting your jaw last week. I'm only 29 years old. I' going to make mistakes'. "

"This guy is a joke, what a fool. You nearly ruined Sunderland and are taking Ipswich to League 1."
