Pearson happy to keep winning

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson was happy to see his side maintain their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-1 win over spirited Tranmere.

A double from Matt Fryatt and one from Steve Howard earned the Foxes all three points, with Chris Shuker grabbing a late consolation for the visitors.

Pearson said: "I'm pleased with the result because I said last week that we would play a lot worse and win. But I'm sure Tranmere will be disappointed to have played so well, particularly in the first half, and to not come away with anything.

"They had a game plan that took us a long time to come to terms with, so in the end I'm very pleased with this result.

"After all, it's another three points to add to our good start to the season and it's results that matter.

"We weren't at our best, to be honest, but we did enough to win the game. But winning when you are not playing well is not a bad habit to have."

 Leicester 3 - 1 Tranmere
