Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood has hinted defender Julian Bennett may make his pre-season bow in Friday's friendly against Everton.
Bennett has been sidelined with a hamstring injury in recent weeks and is likely to miss Tuesday's clash with Burton Albion and the game against Telford 24 hours later.
But the 23-year-old could return against the Toffees at the City Ground later this week.
"We will get some match action out of Jules this week," Calderwood told the club's official website. "But it won't be in the next two games. We'll look towards Friday."
"The boys are in quite nice condition physically.
"We want them to be at it in the next two games. We won't be able to use the excuse of tired legs because we've conditioned ourselves with those in mind. We should be ready for them and will play at a real match tempo for as long as we can last."
