Nottingham Forest defender Joel Lynch made a successful comeback for the reserves on Monday after missing two matches due to illness.
Lynch, on loan from Brighton, played for 71 minutes in a 3-0 win over Port Vale to put himself in contention for Saturday's home match with Norwich.
A Lee Martin double and a Danny Edwards own goal maintained the reserves' place at the top of the table.
