North End youngsters win thriller

Preston won the Lancashire FA Youth Cup on Wednesday after a thrilling 3-2 victory against rivals Burnley at Deepdale.

Goals from Adam Barton, Conor McLaughlin and Ryan McGreevy were enough to see off the Clarets' Under-18 side, who netted through Dominic Knowles and Michael King.

North End youth-team boss Jamie Hoyland said: "I'm hugely delighted with the win.

"The people who have been here to watch it will think it has been a really enjoyable game."
