QPR midfielder Mikele Leigertwood has expressed his pleasure to have captained the side in the absence of regular skipper Martin Rowlands.
Rowlands had been sidelined since the opening day of the season until returning as a substitute against Peterborough last weekend, and Leigertwood will have to hand back the armband if his fellow midfielder starts at Cardiff on Saturday.
"It's nice to stand in while Rowly is out," said Leigertwood.
"It's a good feeling to lead the team out and it shows the gaffer has belief in me. It's down to me to make sure I do a good job as captain when I'm asked to do it."
