Royals boss satisfied with form

Boss Steve Coppell is relatively happy with Reading's start to their campaign back in the Championship after two seasons in the top flight.

The Royals have won two, drawn one and lost one and also have won two Carling Cup fixtures along the way.

But Coppell admits things would not be looking so rosy if Crystal Palace had won at the Madjeski Stadium last Saturday.

Reading eventually ran out 4-2 winners but were behind going in at half-time.

"Our start has been on the good side of OK," he told the club's website.

"In many ways it has been determined by Saturday's result against Palace. If we'd had a poor result it would have been a poor start, but a good result meant it was a good start."
