Doyle hails Hunt's knockout blow

Reading striker Kevin Doyle admitted that strike partner Noel Hunt was knocked senseless in opening the scoring against Burnley on Saturday.

Hunt headed in Jimmy Kebe's cross to put the Royals in front but was smacked on the side of the head by Clarets defender Clarke Carlisle and was substituted minutes later.

Doyle said: "Noel kept asking me what he was doing and where he was going.

"I thought I'd go and tell the bench. We went back for a corner kick and he didn't know who to mark.

"He was running all over the place.

"He came around slowly but surely. But I told him a few things in the dressing room that weren't true to wind him up."
