Reading striker Noel Hunt has withdrawn from the Ireland B squad this week after suffering three separate injuries in the 3-1 win over Burnley.
Hunt was named by Giovanni Trapattoni in the Irish squad for Thursday's International Challenge match against Nottingham Forest at Dalymount Park.
However, Hunt suffered a blow to the temple when heading home Reading's opening goal on Saturday, and also sustained knee and shoulder injuries.
Royals physio Jon Fearn told the club's official website: "He's certainly improved, but he won't be going over to meet up with Ireland.
"When I first went onto the pitch he was fine, he knew where he was and was fully conscious of his surroundings and his present state."
He added: "But not until after the event did it become apparent that he wasn't able to create new memories - he couldn't retain new information."
