Striker Kevin Doyle has signalled his intent to remain with Reading by agreeing a new two-and-a-half-year deal with the club.
The 25-year-old, who is the Championship's joint top scorer with 11 goals this season, has penned a deal which will keep him at the club until June 2011.
Doyle had been linked with Aston Villa and a number of other Premier League clubs following Reading's relegation and is hopeful his decision to sign a new deal will put an end to rumours he wants to leave the Madejski Stadium.
"I am delighted to have signed this new deal," Doyle told the club's website.
"I've had ongoing discussions and over the last couple of weeks we have come to an agreement that is right for both me and the club.
"I have had great support from the chairman and everyone at the club since I arrived from Ireland three and a half years ago, and I take enormous pride in playing for Reading.
"This sense of achievement, as with all the players and staff, was dented on relegation, and I hope that signing this new deal will take away speculation surrounding my own future and allow me to focus totally on achieving my own and the club's ambition of returning to the Premier League at the end of the season."

"I agree with Russ_avfc that Doyle would not improve the squad. Crouch is an enigma, how about Owen if available?"

"quality news now everyone can get lost and keep away!!! Leave us to it and promotion will come!! ROYALSSSSSSSS"

"Please no. We have a good above average team of players now, with the exception of a couple like ashley, barry, gabby etc. but we need real quality now and i dont think that comes in the form of Doyle. I thought Carew was usless last night, maybe just tried but i think a good replacement would be crouch, since liverpool he has got quicker with his feet and not just good in the air. Think he would be a real asset. What everyone else think?"
