Striker Billy Sharp believes Sheffield United still have a chance of reaching the Championship play-offs, having won their last four games.
The Blades climbed up to 12th thanks to Sharp's goal in Saturday's 1-0 win at Barnsley and are six points behind sixth-placed Plymouth Argyle.
Sharp now believes another three points at Preston next weekend could spark a late surge for the top six.
He told The Star: "If we can get a win away at Preston then we've got a few home games and the derby (against Sheffield Wednesday) to come.
"There's always one team that gets in there on a late run and hopefully that will be us.
"We've got to finish strongly. If we can keep winning, then we'll climb the table."
