Soares has started just five Premier League games for Stoke since signing from Crystal Palace in August 2008 and has not even featured on the bench this season.

He did appear in all three of the Potters' Carling Cup games, but he is no nearer to Tony Pulis' first team and has moved to Hillsborough for a month. The 23-year-old made 11 appearances on loan at Crystal Palace last season.

Wedderburn, meanwhile, played nine times on loan at Notts County last term and has now been sent to Hereford to further his development.

The England Under-19 becomes the 10th player to leave the Britannia Stadium on a short-term basis this campaign. Ibrahima Sonko (Hull), Dave Kitson (Middlesbrough), Andrew Davies, Richard Cresswell (both Sheffield United), Carl Dickinson, Ryan Shotton (both Barnley), Michael Tonge (Preston) and Ben Marshall (Cheltenham) are the other players.

Leon Cort will not be leaving, however, despite interest from Newcastle.

Pulis told the Stoke Sentinel: "Leon isn't going anywhere. But when the window opens again in January, we'll look at it again."
