Watford winger Tommy Smith has challenged his team-mates to "put things right" by winning promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
Smith - named player of the season this weekend - scored the equaliser at Blackpool on Sunday which sealed a place in the top six by a solitary goal.
And Smith is determined to help the Hornets overcome a run of just one win in 14 to win promotion back to the top flight.
He said: "It would have been terrible not to have made it into the play-offs on the last day, but we always felt we would be capable of achieving that.
"The margin with which we secured our place just goes to show how important the little things are and how vital everyone's contribution is.
"It's always great to have form but in these situations it counts for nothing.
"We didn't prove ourselves up at Hull a few weeks ago so it will be cathartic to put things right and there won't be a bigger stage to do it on than in the play-off semi-final."
