Wigan are reported to be lining up a move for Le Mans midfielder Hassan Yebda.
Yebda is out of contract in the summer and he is available on a free transfer after turning down a new deal at Le Mans.
The news has alerted Wigan who are believed to have made contact with the player over a possible move to the JJB Stadium.
Latics boss Steve Bruce is determined to bolster his squad and Yebda's Bosman status make him an attractive proposition for Bruce.
Yebda is believed to be keen on a move to England with the 24-year-old a bid admirer of the Premier League.
Wigan could face a fight for the Frenchman as a number of clubs across Europe are thought to be monitoring his situation.
