The Championship side will host Mark Hughes' men on Saturday August 2 in the final game of their preperation for next season following a three-game trip to Scotland and another three away fixtures.

Manager Mick McCarthy told the club's official website: "I'm delighted Mark has agreed to bring Blackburn to Molineux. They finished seventh in the Premier League and will be excellent opposition to wrap our pre-season programme up."

Wolves will face Wrexham and Hereford before travelling to Scotland to face Scottish Premier League side's Motherwell and Kilmarnock along with Scottish First Division side Dundee before facing neighbours Walsall.

McCarthy added: "The trip to Scotland will provide us with competitive games. It's friendlies in inverted commas up in Scotland.

"We know what we are going to get from games like these. They will all want to beat us and the style of play will be similar to what we will face week-in-week-out in the Championship."
