Michael Kightly believes Aaron McLean would be a huge success at Molineux if Wolves and Peterborough can reach an agreement over his transfer.
McLean caused a huge stir on Tuesday by slapping in a transfer request at London Road, but with Mick McCarthy appearing reluctant to meet Posh's valuation of the player, a deal looks some way off.
Nevertheless, having played with McLean at Grays Athletic, Kightly feels the 5ft 7in marksman would be loved by the Molineux faithful.
"He's very hungry and wants to do well like me. The supporters would take to him," Kightly told the Express and Star. "Potentially, he is a fans' favourite if he does come because of the way he plays.
"First and foremost, he's a very hard-working player who works his socks off all day long. If players give 110%, fans can relate to that and they're more likely to take to a player.
"He wears his heart on his sleeve and scores goals. It's just whether his signing can be agreed. He scored 33 goals in League Two so he knows where the net is. He would be a great signing for us."
