Wolves dismiss Keogh bid talk

Wolves have dismissed reports suggesting Championship outfit Leicester City have tabled a bid for striker Andy Keogh.

It was believed the newly-promoted Foxes had offered £1.5million for the former Scunthorpe United marksman.

Keogh recently committed his long-term future to the club after extending his contract in February until 2012.

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey has played down talk Keogh could leave, stating no bid has been made.

"It's nonsense - there has been no bid for Andy Keogh," Moxey told the Express and Star.

Premier League new boys Wolves currently have five strikers on their books - with Keogh, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Kevin Doyle, Chris Iwelumo and Sam Vokes all battling it out to start against West Ham on the opening day.

Meanwhile, Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric has confirmed the club will again look to utilise the loan market this summer in a bid to bring in young Premier League players on season-long deals.

"We can have five loan players and it is a tremendous opportunity for us to take advantage of the system," Mandaric told the Leicester Mercury.

"We are working on a few things, including one from last year."

"not good enough for the championship nor the PL 1.5 million means that scouts are not doing their job. Less than 1 in 5 goals per game maybe thats what they based their transfer figure on we will be relegated if he plays next year give him what he wants i.e. first team football and what most fans want 1.5 million pounds"

Drudkh (Liverpool fan)

"He can play as a winger as well. He'd be alright back up to have around, just in case."

"Have to agree that we shouldn't really need him anymore not with Doyle Blake etc.

Macjam- Keogh may be a hard worker and nice lad but the fact is that he couldn't score in a brothel! He had plenty of chances last season and missed far to many and that just won't work in the Prem. Think if there is a bid we should take there hand off cause Vokes is a MUCH better prospect and I would hate to see him go instead. Unfortuneatly he seems to be one of Micks 'Golden Boys'! "

"you dont need him you have DOYLE now"

"I wish JM would have added to that statement that even if there was a bid we wouldn't want Andy to leave. "
