Tyson, who has just one year left on his current deal, found the net 12 times this season to help fire Forest back into the Championship after a three-year stint in League One.

And he is eager to extend his stay at in order to prove himself in England's second tier.

"I am happy to stay, there is no question about that. I do not want to leave. I think there will be talks very soon, it would be nice to get things sorted before I go on holiday," Tyson told the Nottingham Evening Post.

"I will see what happens in the next few weeks. I am sure I will be going in to speak to the gaffer about my future. I have a year left but, if they want to extend my contract, hopefully now is the time to do it.

"The gaffer has said he had a plan A and a plan B for the season - I just hope I am part of plan A. It is in the hands of the chairman, the gaffer and Mark Arthur now. But I don't want to leave it until Christmas or anything like that to get things resolved. I want to get it over and done with."
