Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling has spoken of his delight at securing defender Alton Thelwell on a new one-year contract.
The 27-year-old former Tottenham defender, who managed 32 appearances this season despite a niggling knee problem which eventually needed surgery, has committed himself to Brisbane Road for another 12 months.
"I'm very pleased Alton has signed a new contract," said Ling.
"He has been a big part of our team for the past 18 months and the fact he played through the pain barrier for a large part of the season shows the kind of character he is.
"The centre-half department is one I'm very happy with, and Alton signing is another part of the 22-piece jigsaw in place.
"His knee operation went well and he will be A-okay for the start of pre-season."
