Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling has warned midfielder Sean Thornton he could leave the club if he fails to respond to being dropped on Saturday.
Thornton, who joined Orient from Doncaster in July 2007, was omitted from the squad which drew 0-0 with Carlisle last weekend.
Ling feels the former Sunderland playmaker is 'not fulfilling his potential at the moment' and has demanded a positive reaction from the 25-year-old.
"He is under contract here until June next year and he will be considered for selection if needed, but if it happens that he needs to leave the football club in order to find his niche then that will also be taken into consideration," said Ling.
"There is undoubtedly a talent there, but it only shows its head now and again and I feel that Sean needs a wake-up call."
