Hoyle mum on Ternent successor

Huddersfield chairman-elect Dean Hoyle is remaining tight-lipped about his search for Stan Ternent's successor as manager at the club.

Ternent and assistant Ronnie Jepson departed by mutual consent earlier this month after only six months in charge, with director of football development Gerry Murphy taking charge for the third time on a temporary basis.

Murphy has again insisted he does not want the job permanently, but Hoyle, who will succeed Ken Davy as chairman at the end of the Terriers' centenary season, is determined to embark on a period of stability at the Galpharm Stadium.

The successful applicant will become Town's sixth manager in as many years and while the search continues Hoyle is confident the team is in good hands.

Murphy led the Terriers to a second successive win over Leeds over the weekend. He was in temporary charge in April following the departure of Andy Ritchie when Huddersfield last beat their West Yorkshire rivals.

Former Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd was installed as early favourite to replace Ternent, while Yeovil's Russell Slade and former Walsall boss Richard Money, now academy manager at Newcastle, are the latest to be connected with the job.
