Wilson hints at new Town arrivals

Swindon manager Danny Wilson has revealed there could be a number of new additions to his League One squad by the end of next week.

Town have so far added defender Gordon Greer and goalkeeper David Lucas to their playing ranks ahead of Monday's return to pre-season training, while Peter Shirtliff and George Wood have also joined the backroom set-up.

But Wilson has not finished his summer spending yet and would like to bring new faces in sooner rather than later.

"In an ideal world we would have the squad complete by the time we head out for the Austria tour (July 11) - but we will see what happens," he told the club's official website. "We have a lot of targets and I am very confident we will have a very competitive squad in place for the new season.

"There will be additions to the squad as pre-season progresses, possibly towards the end of next week.

"David Lucas will be meeting the rest of the squad for the first time on Monday and Gordon (Greer) will be a familiar face to the rest of the lads after doing so well here last season."
