Ward may be loaned out to Lions

Millwall are in talks with former favourite Darren Ward over a return to The Den, with Wolves boss Mick McCarthy admitting it is possible.

Ward, who joined Millwall in 2001 and played in the FA Cup final against Manchester United three years later, is out of favour at Molineux and set to leave on loan.

McCarthy, when asked if 31-year-old Ward would return to the south Londoners, said: "I think he would. There was a potential deal for him to go on loan there. They enquired about him so we'll see."

Injuries have decimated the Millwall defence with Paul Robinson, Tony Craig, Zak Whitbread, Danny Senda and Pat O'Connor all on the sidelines.
