Tranmere caretaker Les Parry believes the return to fitness of Alan Mahon and Michael Ricketts can help his side to start climbing the table.
Rovers are currently second bottom of League One after a desperate start to the campaign which led to John Barnes being shown the door.
Parry is looking to steady the ship while a replacement for Barnes is found and Mahon and Ricketts both played 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient in the FA Cup last Saturday.
Parry said: "I think it gives us hope.
"I have no doubt at all that if the present players here apply themselves correctly, and if we get them fit and organised, we are capable of getting out of the pickle we are in."
