Barnsley boss Simon Davey has revealed midfielder Anderson de Silva may not be fit in time for pre-season.
The 25-year-old has been sidelined since February after undergoing surgery to repair cruciate knee ligament damage.
Tykes goalkeeper Heinz Muller is also recovering from the same injury, but Davey is more confident that he will be ready for the start of pre-season on July 3.
"Anderson is around five or six weeks behind Heinz in his rehabilitation," Davey told the Sheffield Star.
"With cruciates you never know how they're going to react. We'll have to wait and see.
"Heinz is coming back the week before pre-season training starts to check with our physios and bring himself up to speed as far as possible."
