Bradford manager Stuart McCall regretted the loss of another two home points after Accrington fought back to earn a 1-1 draw at Valley Parade.
The Bantams had only themselves to blame for being held to their fourth home league draw of the season.
With only two minutes of normal time left Accrington midfielder Bobby Grant was judged to have handled the ball from Luke O'Brien's corner, but striker Gareth Evans struck his penalty wide.
McCall said: "It was really frustrating. We are having too many draws at the moment. We need to turn these draws into three points especially when we are 1-0 up at home.
"For the neutral it was no doubt an entertaining game, but we are disappointed to lose another two points although there were some strange refereeing decisions and some of the decisions in the second half were unbelievable.
"We had good chances when we were 1-0 up and we didn't take them. Conditions were difficult and it was always going to be a tough game, but if we could have got a second goal we might have gone on to win."
