McCall delighted with Bantams win

Bradford boss Stuart McCall was pleased to see his side end their winless run in style with a 3-0 win over Grimsby at Blundell Park.

Loan signing Simon Whaley marked his first start since arriving from Norwich with a goal to put the Bantams ahead, with Steve Williams and James Hanson notching after the break to seal the win.

The result ended a poor run of five matches without a victory and McCall said: "It's three points, three goals and a clean sheet and I'm pleased with that after the run we've had of late.

"We started brightly and I felt that it was important to get the first goal against a team struggling to find goals and we did that.

"Simon Whaley did well - he was a threat all night and we know he can do that. His touch in difficult conditions was superb and his goal was a great strike.

"We went back to a system that's tried and tested for us and it worked well. There's still a long way to go this season but we've moved closer to the top with a good win."

 Grimsby 0 - 3 Bradford
