U's defender eyes top two spots

Colchester United defender Marc Tierney has set his sights on gatecrashing the top two in League One after the U's recent good form.

Last weekend's 1-0 win at Leyton Orient lifted the U's up to third, and they are now just a point behind Charlton and three adrift of leaders Leeds.

"We're up there and we're closing in on the next couple of teams," Tierney told the Gazette.

"As long as we can keep putting that pressure on, hopefully a bit of doubt will creep into their minds.

"Hopefully, we can just keep doing what we're doing."
