U's boss has 'lovely problems'

Colchester boss Aidy Boothroyd admits his fringe players have given him a real selection dilemma ahead of this weekend's visit of Exeter.

Boothroyd gave rare starts to Phil Ifil, David Fox and Simon Hackney in last Saturday's FA Cup stroll against Bromley while Steven Gillespie, Joel Thomas and Medi Elito got run-outs from the bench.

And following a professional 4-0 win, Boothroyd has plenty of food for thought as he turns his attentions back to the League One promotion race.

"There have been a few players that have been left out recently that showed great character and attitude," he said.

"I've now got some lovely problems for the Exeter game."
