Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll has revealed Manchester City are willing to sell defender Matt Mills, paving the way for a potential return.
The 21-year-old enjoyed two loan spells with Rovers last season and new City boss Mark Hughes has now had time to assess which players he wants to keep and offload after succeeding Sven-Goran Eriksson.
O'Driscoll said: "They have decided that he is going to be too far down the pecking order and that was the first indication that Manchester City were willing to sell him.
"Hopefully we can move it forward as quickly as possible."
