Oldham manager Dave Penney has strengthened his squad by completing the signing of Doncaster striker Paul Heffernan on loan for a month.
Irishman Heffernan, 27, has struggled to hold down a place in Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll's first team this season, making 11 appearances mainly from the bench.
Penney has been looking for a proven goalscorer to fill the void left by Pawel Abbott, sidelined due to complications following a routine hernia operation earlier this month.
Heffernan, signed from Bristol City in August 2006, scored 10 goals in 33 appearances for Doncaster last season.
