Hartlepool United have signed former Newcastle goalkeeper Mark Cook following a successful trial with the League One club.
Cook, 19, joined Danny Wilson's squad for the beginning of pre-season training and has impressed sufficiently to earn a contract.
The teenager was released from St James' Park after five years at the end of last season and will provide competition for Jan Budtz and Arran Lee-Barrett at Victoria Park.
