Hartlepool boss Danny Wilson was happy with his side's efforts as they drew 0-0 with SPL side Falkirk in their second pre-season friendly.

Trialist goalkeeper Derek Soutar was the hero for Pools as he saved a second-half Graham Barrett penalty, although the visitors did have the better of the rest of the chances.

Ritchie Humphreys came closest for the League One outfit but his side-footed effort on the hour-mark went the wrong side of the post.

Wilson told the club's official website: "If you look at the chances in the game, I think we had the better of them. They're a quality team with quality players and after finishing where they did in the SPL, they were always going to be a big test for us.

"We didn't half work hard, we pressed the ball very well and passed it well when we had to and created chances as well."
