Wales international Neil Eardley would be more than happy to take up a midfield role for Oldham in next season's League One campaign.
The 19-year-old has usually been deployed at right-back but manager John Sheridan moved him into midfield for the last game of the season against Crewe and he scored two goals to cap an impressive display.
"It's a compliment to me because I've gone in there and feel like I've done okay," Eardley told the club's official website.
"The position is new to me and at this level it isn't easy to play there.
"I look up to people like Mark Allott and Gary McDonald and pick things up from them, and if I got the opportunity to play there more next season I'd be more than happy."
