Sheffield Wednesday striker Francis Jeffers has suffered yet another setback as he attempts to kickstart his season with the Owls.
The former Everton frontman has suffered a groin strain as he recovers from an ankle problem that has sidelined him since January.
"We are desperate to get Francis fit again but he has felt a twinge in his groin and we will monitor it," Wednesday manager Brian Laws told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"His ankle is fine, it is not a problem."
One of the most injury-plagued players in recent times, Jeffers has been limited to just 12 appearances for the Owls so far, scoring the winning goals against Hull and Preston last season.
