Jamie Vincent made his first start of the season on Monday night as Swindon's reserves were held to a 1-1 draw at Forest Green.
The defender has suffered with an undiagnosed knee complaint since pre-season and has not appeared for the Robins since their 2-1 victory over Millwall back in May.
But after returning to training last week the 33-year-old made the latest step in his rehabilitation at the New Lawn.
Reserve team boss Ady Williams handed starts to several first-team players, including Mark Marshall, Chris Allen, Lee Peacock, Mark Scott and Barry Corr - who is himself battling back to full fitness after six months out with a shoulder injury.
And Corr was on target for the Robins from the spot as they came from behind to secure a point, extending their unbeaten start to the first three games of the reserve season.
