Torquay midfielder Chris Hargreaves and winger Mustapha Carayol should be fit for Saturday's League Two opener at home to Chesterfield.
Hargreaves (calf) and Carayol (hamstring) both got 45-minute run-outs in Friday's 1-0 friendly win at Dorchester.
United boss Paul Buckle said: "It was good to see Chris back in there. He is naturally fit and has such an inner desire to succeed.
"Muzzy was back as well and proved his fitness by running the length of the field to set up the goal."
New striker Ben Joyce converted the 81st-minute winner.
