Grimsby have handed youth-team player Grant Normington the chance to prove himself - albeit only with a six-month contract.
Defender Normington has been a regular for the Mariners' reserves this season and has been rewarded with his first professional deal.
The Yorkshire-born converted midfielder said: "Obviously a six-month contract isn't that long, so I've got to work my hardest in training and hopefully get my chance.
"Hopefully I can prove to the gaffer that I can be a decent right-back and hopefully be here long-term."
