Macc boss: Kids will get chance

Macclesfield Town manager Keith Alexander insists age is no barrier to a regular first-team starting berth at Moss Rose.

Youngsters Nick Blackman, James Jennings, Shaun Brisley, Kristian Dennis and Chris Hirst have all committed themselves to the club by signing new contracts.

For Alexander it is proof of his commitment to developing young homegrown talent and seeing players progress through the ranks.

He said: "Age isn't really an issue for me when it comes to picking the side.

"If the lads are good enough they will get their chance.

"As individuals they are all level-headed, willing to listen and learn and that will stand them in good stead as they look to make strides in the game."
