Notts County have offered former Nottingham Forest trainee Ben Fairclough a short-term contract following a successful trial at Meadow Lane.
Fairclough scored two goals in five appearances for County after spending the entire pre-season campaign with Ian McParland's side.
McParland told the club's official website: "Ben has done well for us over the course of pre-season, so we have come to an agreement with him over a short-term deal.
"We have been pleased with him and he has mixed in well with the group we have. It is up to him to knuckle down now and see if he can earn himself a longer deal.
"He has the opportunity, now it is up to him to grasp it with both hands."
