Accrington Stanley have completed the signing of midfielder Jimmy Ryan on a free transfer ahead of the new League Two campaign.
The 19-year-old is a product of the Liverpool youth academy and featured in the Reds squad which went on to win the FA Youth Cup in 2006 and 2007.
After a six-month loan spell, Ryan made his move to Shrewsbury permanent in January but was released in the summer after failing to hold down a place in Paul Simpson's side.
