Glover pleads for fans' patience

Dean Glover insists he is the right man to transform Port Vale's fortunes and has pleaded for patience from the club's supporters.

Glover was unveiled as Lee Sinnott's successor as the new Vale boss on Monday, pipping Andy Porter to the post.

Porter and Glover had been put in joint caretaker charge, with the latter unpopular among sections of Vale fans who blame him for results during his role as assistant boss under Martin Foyle and Sinnott.

But Glover said: "Please judge me in time. I believe we can turn it around, but it isn't going to be overnight.

"I know I am going to be in for some flak because I know there were people against me."
