Vale boss up for October gong

Port Vale manager Micky Adams has been shortlisted for League Two's October manager of the month award after overseeing a decent unbeaten run.

Adams guided his charges to two wins and three draws from their five league games last month, with Saturday's point at high-flying Dagenham extending their unbeaten run to six games.

He will now compete with Chesterfield's John Sheridan, Rochdale's Keith Hill and Burton's Paul Peschisolido for the award, with the winner announced on Saturday.
