New boss Dillon looks to positives

Aldershot's new boss Kevin Dillon had no complaints with his side despite seeing them waste a hatful of chances in 0-0 draw with Macclesfield.

Dillon: Happy with a share of the spoils

Macclesfield goalkeeper Jon Brain kept Dillon's side at bay with a string of fine saves as Marvin Morgan, Anthony Straker and Kirk Hudson squandered a host of chances.

But Dillon, appointed Gary Waddock's successor last Monday, took the positives after securing a point.

"I'm happy with the result in my first game in charge, but I do think we edged it," said Dillon.

"The worst conditions you can play in as a footballer is in wind and it was exceptionally windy and that made it difficult for us.

"But when we got the ball down in their final third, there was some great movement. There was some good interplay and on another day Marvin Morgan could have had a couple of goals.

"But I'm glad he's missing them. As long as he's getting in the right areas and missing then it doesn't matter because the goals will come for him."
