Rotherham boss Mark Robins expects Michael Boulding, a target also for Bradford, Cheltenham and Grimsby, to decide his future over the weekend.
The 32-year-old former Mansfield striker has recently trained with the Millers, but has also spent time with Bradford during the close season.
Robins said: "He'll be making a decision and we'll find out by the end of the week."
Cheltenham and Grimsby are also understood to be keen to capture Boulding, who left Mansfield following their exit from the Football League in May.
