Struggling Cheltenham have been dealt a blow with the news last season's Player of the Year David Bird faces two months on the sidelines.
The midfielder suffered a fractured toe in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Millwall when his right foot was stamped on.
The Robins have also lodged an appeal with the Football Association over the dismissal of Barry Hayles in the same game.
On-loan Hayles was shown red for allegedly leading with the elbow in an aerial challenge with Paul Robinson, but Cheltenham are appealing on the grounds of wrongful dismissal and a decision is expected later in the week.
Meanwhile, the club have released part-time fitness coach Martin Alps, part-time video analyst Jason Murphy and part-time chief scout Kieran Scarff in order for Martin Allen to maximise the spending budget for new players.
